The 500px Fujifilm Global Photo Walk is an annual worldwide event where thousands of photographers come together on the same day to celebrate their local communities through their love for photography. Beautiful photos and experiences had during the photo walks are shared, enjoyed, and discussed on 500px. This year, 500px asked me to host the Photo Walk in Amsterdam, as I did last year. It was a blast!!
At 6PM we gathered in front of Amsterdam Central Station. After giving away all the swag that 500px provided it was time to shoot our group photo. Special thanks to the amazing Thirsa Nijwening for shooting it for us 🙂
Now it was time to start walking and talking and occasionally shoot some pictures. It didn’t take long until a small group of people went the wrong way as most of us turned left towards the Damrak. Well, in fact they were on the same spot, but just a few 100 meters on the other side and completely lost the group. Thanks to broadcasting on Periscope, they were able to find out where exactly we were. Some others followed along the planned route and waited for us to catch up.

After the broadcast we almost got the whole group back together and we wandered off to our next location. Half way we catched up with some others who knew we were coming that way. We continued with the whole group to the Melkmeisjesbrug, Papiermolensluis and finished the walk at the Dam Square.
I would personally like to thank all who joined the 500px Photowalk in Amsterdam and made it an epic event!! Hope to see you all next year when we take another route through Amsterdam 🙂
